Guilt free shopping at Target's Paul and Joe

August 20, 2006 - Category: Shopping

I have finally found my haven for guiltless shopping: Target's line of Paul and Joe. I know it's no where close to the designer P&J line but they sure have some cute stuff for very affordable prices. Check out Target: Paul and Joe to find out what I mean. Most tops are between $15-$35, beats most brand name clothes. Plus, they have the cutest selection of animal print tees. My favorite:

for you kitty lovers. Go visit Target and you just might be surprised at what you'll find. The best thing about shopping there? You can find anything else you might need there so that's the perfect excuse! ^_^ Thanks Sarah for sharing this with me!

Weekends are always too short!

August 06, 2006 - Category: News

Jacqueline and David K. finally came to visit David W. and me this weekend. Why do weekends always seem so short? They stayed from Thursday night till this morning but it flew by so fast. On friday we got to go bike riding around Newport Beach and Lido Island. BTW, Lido island sucks for bike riding. It's very residential and you can't even ride along the pier. The highlight of Lido was spotting a teensy weensy old house (can't be more than 2000 sq. ft) on sale for 2.65 million! I guess the convenient beach access and the status that goes along with owning a house there is worth it for the rich. Then, we went to Boiling Crab in Garden Grove to taste some yummy oysters, crawfish, shrimp, blue crabs, and corn. This was David K's first but for the rest of us, Boiling Crab is definitely on our list of favorite restaurants to eat. I'll post pics in my photo album once I get around to it. There's no place like it and we all left content. Only probably was that day, they didn't have the dungeonous crab, one of my all time favorites there. I guess I'll have to make another trip someday. To top off the night, we spent a couple hours at Morongo Casino. Needless to say, I didn't win but oh well, at least I learned the basic rules of Craps and received some helpful hints on Black Jack.

On Saturday, we did everything from going shopping at Palms Spring Cabazon Outlet, riding the Palms Spring Ariel Tramway, hiking on the mountain top, eating at Nara sushi restaurant in Chino Hills, to bowling at Arrowhead bowling alley in San Berardino. The weather on sat turned out perfect. On the mountain top where we hiked, it was 65F so it was nice and cool. We got some awesome photos up there...way too hilarious. At the sushi restaurant, we tried out this blue fin tuna nigiri that was $9.95/2 pieces. Although it melted in your mouth, I'm not sure if it's worth the price. At the bowling alley, I once again showed off my lack of talent bowling skills. My scores ranged from 65 to 85's. :( Hey, at least I didn't score <50 (that unfortunately happens quite frequently). Jacqueline and David W (my david) both did well but David K (Jacqueline's david) was the star of the night with a score of 162, his personal best.

See what I mean? I did all of this in a mere two days but it flew by so so fast... I had to send Jacqueline and David K off this morning. :( now I'm sitting in front of my desk trying to read an ariticle for tomorrow's rotation but this article never seems to end.......... I guess I better get back to it.

Story of My Life: The Next 5 Weeks

August 02, 2006 - Category: News

I have finally finished all the didactic courses for Loma Linda University, School of Pharmacy. Now, I only have 1 more year of school left before getting my PharmD degree. I've been looking forward to this last year for the last 3 years in school because this year is the year that I can finally apply all that I've learned in the past in clinical settings for direct patient care. Needless to bore you with details, I am training at a family practice hospital the first 6 weeks going on rounds with clinicians and other students. I love almost every minute of it my first few days. However, I failed to realize what a challenge it is to be at work from 6am-4pm everyday. I really have to get used to sleeping earlier so that I can stay alert during rounds. I definitely don't want to overlook things simply because I'm tired. I hope I can overcome this obstacle soon! Forgive me for not posting much the next few weeks because I'm so so tired always after work. :(
